Raquel Hazelrigg

Raquel Hazelrigg, LPC-A

I view counseling as a collaborative effort. I will sit with you, listen to you, and walk alongside you as you become the kind of person you want to be. I honor the resilience of my clients – their ability to heal and change after difficult experiences – and believe in the process of counseling to build on the strengths that already exist within every individual. You are the expert of your own experience – I am here to provide insight and to support you on your journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Dr. Michael Moyer, LPC-S. I have been working with clients for the past three years in different settings, namely private practice, NISD schools, and at a children’s shelter. I am conversationally fluent in Spanish and yearn to provide a culturally sensitive and inclusive space for all my clients. I have experience working with children and teens, but also enjoy working with adults on issues ranging from anxiety and depression to relationship/attachment issues and childhood trauma. My core approach to counseling is person-centered, which emphasizes the client-counselor relationship and the client’s role in their own healing, but I also use modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
